New baby Sass is here!

New baby Sass is here!

I was awakened around 4:30 am today by my wife, who had informed me that she was having contractions. It didn’t take a lot of time to figure out this was going to be faster than last time as each contraction was intense and about 2 minutes apart lasting about 45 seconds each. I called our doula Deb around 5:00 am and she wasted no time showing up. Allison’s best friend Stephanie was available to help as well, and showed up about 15 minutes after Deb’s arrival. Everyone else was over an hour away, including the doctor, but we were confident that this would go smoothly.  To make a short story even shorter, Allison gave birth to a baby boy at 6:16 am. He weighed in at 8 lbs even, was 21 inches long, and was perfect in every way. I woke up Charlie who was sleeping in Sindy’s lap in the other room and she just adored him. We are still thinking about what to name him.

(Clicking his picture will access the new album.)

Charlie draws balloons

Charlotte and I were just hanging out and i drew some circles on a peice of paper. straight away she noticed the joint where the circ le began and ended and drew a squiglly little line coming off it, and proclaimed “Balloon!” I was beaming. so of cource we drew a page full of balloons, all with parallell’ish “strings coming down off of them. Maybe she will be another artist. 🙂

Charlies first car will hopefully be Hydrogen powered

Hydrogen, Fuel Cells and Infrastructure Technologies Program: President’s Hydrogen Fuel Initiative
“…the first car driven by a child born today could be powered by hydrogen, and pollution-free. Join me in this important innovation to make our air significantly cleaner, and our country much less dependent on foreign sources of energy.”
